SpaceX just unleashed its Starship rocket for the first time
Late last night at a launch facility in Boca Chica, Texas, SpaceX's next-generation Starship rocket—dubbed Starhopper—successfully launched from the pad, flew sideways, and landed. The Starhopper will someday serve as a cost-effective launch system for Starlink satellites with its much more powerful Raptor engine, but in the long term, SpaceX hopes it will someday head for Mars with human cargo. The test was originally set to take place last Tuesday, but, well, a fireball interrupted things.
