The Indiana Pacers rented a movie theater to try to convince Lance Stephenson to re-sign

There was a special midnight screening at a suburban Indianapolis movie theater early Tuesday morning, but it wasn't showing the new Transformers movie.

With the free agent signing period kicking off, the Indiana Pacers rented out the place as part of their recruiting pitch to convince guard Lance Stephenson to ink a new deal with the team. The team reportedly put together a film highlighting all of the career strides he's made in Indiana.

Candace Buckner of the Indy Star has the details.

Inside the entertainment complex based in suburban Indianapolis, the Pacers' commitment begins in earnest where a private party will be held and a love letter set to moving pictures will play with the hopes of keeping Stephenson. The movie will feature moments from when Stephenson arrived in Indiana to the point he is now, a potential Eastern Conference All-Star and a key figure in a core that can compete for a title. After midnight, however, the real picture of Stephenson's future will take shape.

As a quick search of the For The Win archives show, there are more than enough highlights to make a feature-length film (OK, maybe not Transformers 4 long) of Stephenson's most entertaining moments.

Hopefully the Pacers will eventually release their film if the 23-year-old shooting guard ends up returning to Indianapolis. It'll be curious to see if it reaches the cinematic bar set by the All-Star campaign video he created in January.
