As I'm sure everyone reading this blog is aware, today, the fourth day of the month of May, is now commonly known as Star Wars Day, thanks to the pun "May the Fourth Be With You." The first organized celebration of Star Wars Day apparently took place last year in Ontario, Canada, and included an array of activities including trivia, costume contests and tribute-films. As if we needed a holiday to celebrate Star Wars culture!
I'm sure you'll be bombarded with tweets wishing you a Happy Star Wars Day, no doubt hashtagged #StarWarsDay and Sony Online Entertainment is doing its part to help celebrate this most hallowed of holidays by offering everyone a free Nelona Dual-Bladed Lightsaber, just like Darth Maul's. Before you get too excited imagining battling your friends on the driveway - it's not a real lightsaber. It's only available to players of the family-friendly virtual world Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures today, starting from 9am EDT.

It's essentially a kind of Club Penguin or Moshi Monsters for the Star Wars–obsessed, with basic content offered for free, but if you sign up to the paid membership scheme, you get access to more customization options, games, items and accessories for your virtual self.
Sony is offering players 40 booster points just for logging in today and the official Star Wars website will also be participating in the festivities, providing users with a special code that will grant them the Lightsaber. Also, as a special promotion, the Jedi Membership option will be available for only $1.99 (instead of $5.99) for the first month for new registrants.
