How do you make a game about playing along with Beatles tunes on fake plastic instruments even more authentic? By releasing plastic replicas of the guitars used by John Lennon and George Harrison, of course.
Harmonix, developer of the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band, has issued word that plastic recreations of Lennon's Rickenbacker 325 and Harrison's Gretsch Duo Jet (pictured at right) are planned for release alongside the game. Each plastic axe will sport a $100 price tag.
Combine these two instruments with the Ludwig drumset included in the $250 limited edition release of the game and you're all set to re-enact the group's classic Ed Sullivan appearance. Now all you need is a black and white camera, a bald entertainment icon and hundreds of screaming teenage girls.
