Japan is known for rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution and for purikura photo booths, where teens make sticker pics of themselves. Now the two concepts are being combined in the Ulala purikura machine. How it works: Tokyo schoolgirls pop 400 yen ($3.85) into the slot and select "DIY pedal course." Bubblegum pop songs like "Mickey" and "Dancing Queen" blast inside the booth while dancing pandas flash on the monitor. The subject starts to shake her groove thang. When a prerecorded voice chirps, "Shutter chance," the gal stomps on a designated spot to snap the picture: a pad in front triggers a close-up; two in the back take full-body shots. It's pretty simple when going solo, but girls dancing in pairs have to watch their toes.
