T're back. The hot-shot file-sharing coders who came out of nowhere to bring you Napster, Scour, Kazaa, FastTrack, Musicbank, and Freenet are launching a raft of new ventures. Once upon a time, they helped millions swap songs, movies, and software, but most of the companies they founded were destroyed or crippled by the fierce legal attacks of the music and film industries. Their current gigs, most of which have nothing to do with file-sharing, are no less ambitious. But most of them are less likely to draw legal fire.

<EAN PARKER</strm to fame:</stster
r of woe:</stker, the "other" Napster founder, was jettisoned in 2000 after his emails – which proclaimed the service would hurt record labels – were used during a court battle with the RIAA.
rnd act:</stxo
rnew deal:</stil.
